ANDREA DEBBANE
CHIEF SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER
Andrea joined JLR in February 2024 as the company's Director of Sustainability, and is JLR's Chief Sustainability Officer since November 2024. She will shape and lead JLR's sustainability vision and will be instrumental in its cultural transformation and modern leadership development journey, playing a critical role in helping to honour JLR's commitment to the planet and the communities we operate in.
Andrea has a wealth of experience in sustainability, strategy, branding and communications. She held the position of Senior Vice President, Sustainability at Kuehne+Nagel where she developed and drove the company's sustainability agenda, supporting customers to decarbonise their logistics with economically competitive solutions.
Prior to this, she spent 17 years in aerospace and aviation as Head of Sustainability at Airbus where she worked with customers, suppliers and governments to develop the strategy for sustainable aviation. She also established and served as Executive Director of the Airbus Foundation, supporting the humanitarian community with emergency response services as well as working with NGOs, start‑ups and social entrepreneurs to support the development and education of young people worldwide.
She initially joined Airbus to work on the branding and marketing of the A380, the world's largest aircraft and industrial programme at the time. Prior to this she was head of strategy for The Coca‑Cola Company in Japan.
Andrea also served on the board of Fairtrade International, the global leader for responsible and sustainable consumer labels.
She has a BA from Concordia/McGill University in Montreal, Canada, an MBA from IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland and was a Monbusho scholar at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Andrea has triple nationality: Canadian, British and Belgian. She is a native English speaker, fluent in French and conversational Japanese.
